Post No. 077: The Oneness Of God — I Am Trying To Save The World

(Image from QuotesGram)

I Am Trying To Save The World

I am trying to save the world
but the world needs to save itself...

...For, I cannot save the world,
since the world needs to save itself.

I am trying to save my world—and
my world needs to be saved by myself...

...For, I can save my world, because
my world can only be saved by myself.

I am still trying to save the world—but,
my world needs to be saved by myself first...

...For, I can save the world—but, the world can
only be saved by my world being saved by myself.

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Three Dark Horses)
"I am the darkness which brings the light!"

My Writing About Trying To Save The World, Version No. 1: I am trying to save the world and the world needs to save itself. I am trying to save my world and my world needs to be saved by myself. My Writing About Trying To Save The World, Version No. 2: I am trying to save the world—but the world needs to save itself... ...For, I cannot save the world, since the world needs to save itself. I am trying to save my world—and my world needs to be saved by myself... ...For, I can save my world, because my world can only be saved by myself. I am still trying to save the world—but, my world needs to be saved by myself first... ...For, I can save the world—but, the world can only be saved by my world being saved by myself. –Paul Whiting (written August 27th, 2016, revised August 28th, 2016 and revised June 29th, 2022)

My Spiritual Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "I am trying to save the world and the world needs to save itself. I am trying to save my world and my world needs to be saved by myself. I am trying to save the world, but my world needs to be saved by myself first."

And this poem was also published on my "Small All White in the Forest," "Poet, Artist and Philosopher" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Small All White in the Forest," "Poet, Artist and Philosopher" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.

Post No. 023: The Oneness Of God — I, Creator

(Image from Etsy.com)

I, Creator

In the beginning, power is realizing that
you are one with The Creator Of
Your Existence!

And in the end, power is actually becoming
The Creator Of Your Existence, since
there is no other place to go!

There is nothing more to The Game Of Life
than to play along with God as you
practice becoming God!

My Writing About Each And Every Soul Being On A Path To Becoming God: I honestly believe that—quite literally—each and every soul is on a path to becoming God. –Paul Whiting (written September 6th, 2012 and revised August 3rd, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About How Every Soul Chooses Their Own Path: Every soul chooses their own path to becoming God, but we are all literally God. –Paul Whiting (written April 5th, 2015 and August 3rd, 2022)

My Writing About How You Are A Copy Of God: You are really a copy of God, or an individual manifestation of God in the process of becoming God. –Paul Whiting (written August 20th, 2016, revised May 8th, 2022 and revised August 3rd, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Spiritual Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "There is nothing more to The Game Of Life than to play along with God as you practice becoming God!"

And another reason that I wrote this poem is because I was inspired by the title of the television series, produced by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) in 1976, which was titled, "I, Claudius."

You see, when I was ten years old, my parents and I watched the series on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) in Utah, when it was rebroadcast in 1977. Here is a relevant quote from IMDb (Internet Movie Database):

"The show aired in 13 episodes on PBS in 1977, but was originally shown in 12 episodes in England, the first and second episodes having been combined."

I was always fascinated by that title, which is why I used a 'take-off' on that title for this poem as "I, Creator."

And this poem was also published on my "Small All White in the Forest" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Small All White in the Forest" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.

However, I may be remembering that incorrectly, because this poem may have been written in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"I, Claudius (TV series)" from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia—which is funded primarily through donations from millions of individuals around the world, including this blogger (I make a totally affordable one-time donation if they are requesting donations when I am on their website):

"I, Claudius (stylized as I·CLAVDIVS) is a 1976 BBC Television adaptation of Robert Graves' 1934 novel I, Claudius and its 1935 sequel Claudius the God ... The series covers the history of the early Roman Empire, told from the perspective of the elderly Emperor Claudius who narrates the series."

Post No. 022: The Oneness Of God — I Am The Vessel

(Image from Pinterest)

I Am The Vessel

I am the ship bearing
a sea-weary traveler.

I am the cup offering
water to a parched visitor.

I am the door opening
to welcome a total stranger.

I am the window allowing
an unclouded view of nature.

I am the vessel receiving
all that God has to offer.

Post No. 008: The Oneness Of God — I Am The Sound

(Image from WallpaperCave)

I Am The Sound
[An "Amazing Grace" poem poetic adaptation]

Amazing Grace, I am the sound
which saved a soul like me. I once
cried "lost," but now I cry "found."
I was in a "bind," but now "I'm free!"

'Twas myself who taught my heart to
fear—and myself my fears relieved.
How precious did I finally appear
the minute I first believed!

Through many pleasures, joys
and scares, I have already come.
'Tis myself who took me out this far
and I will bring me home!

When I have been there a zillion
years, bright shining as The Son,
I have no less days to be God's Praise
than when I had first begun!

Amazing Grace, I am the sound
which saves a soul like me. I once
cried "lost," but now I cry "found."
I was in a "bind," but now "I'm free!"

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Three Dark Horses)
"I am the darkness which brings the light!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Spiritual Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: To be perfectly honest, I do not remember exactly how I was inspired—after chatting online with someone called "zendawg23" (on the now defunct gay.com chat site)—to do a poetic adaptation of John Newton's famous poem "Amazing Grace." I do know that I was trying to convey the idea that we all have the power to 'make ill,' or to 'make well,' our own souls, because I truly do believe that "We Are All A Part Of God!"

Thus, this poem is a poetic adaptation of the hymn "Amazing Grace," which was originally written as a poem by John Newton and joined with the hymn "New Britain," as the melody most currently associated with the hymn.

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how one line of this poem was written when I realized that I should remove the metaphorical comparison to "blindness," since it is disrespectful toward those who are blind. So, I wanted to show you how this particular line used to be written, before I revised it as above.

And it used to be written like this:

...claimed I was "blind," but now "I see!"

Thus, I revised this poem to be written as it is above.

This poem was poetically adapted in Portland, Oregon.

Post No. 007: The Oneness Of God — I Am No Barrier

(Image from The Center For Joyful Living)

I Am No Barrier
(Or, "The Light And I Are As One")

I am no barrier to its sun;
the light and I are as one.

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Three Dark Horses)
"I am the darkness which brings the light!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Spiritual Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this poem in order to convey how close that I felt to "The Light Of God," once I finally understood what that light is for us humans: it is "God's Inner Light!"

You see, I was always taught by my upbringing in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ("The Mormon Church") that you should be close to God; but they didn't really explain how to be close to God, they just said that you should be close to God! And it wasn't until faced my fears of being gay and I came out of the closet—and felt "The Inner Light Of God"—that I finally understood the how and the why of being close to God: "Total Emotional Honesty With Yourself!"

Post No. 005: The Oneness Of God — I Am The Darkness And The Light

(Image from A Portal To Enlightenment)

WARNING: THIS POST HAS CONTENT THAT MAY BE DISTURBING TO SOME READERS. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!

I Am
The Darkness
And The Light!

I am the darkness
which brings
the light!

I am the daylight
that summons
the night!*

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Three Dark Horses)
"I am the darkness which brings the light!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About God Being Both Darkness And Light: Because we are the naturally-occurring vibration at the very center of Literally Nothing which is Self-Aware—due to the pressure right in the middle of Nothing—we are very dark in our nature. And in order to transform The Darkness, since that is what we naturally are, we must turn ourselves into The Light. For, God—which is what we are—is both Darkness and Light. –Paul Whiting (written October 25th, 2016, revised October 26th, 2016, revised July 25th, 2022, revised February 1st, 2023 and revised February 19th, 2023)

My Writing About The Darkness And The Light: Where there is the darkness, be the light. –Paul Whiting (written October 25th, 2016 and revised August 7th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About Us Being Both The Darkness And The Light: We are the darkness, but we can also be the light. –Paul Whiting (August 7th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Spiritual Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: A "chosen name" is like a nickname that you choose to give yourself, which represents how you feel about yourself.

*And I feel like clarify that these chosen names of mine are NOT LITERAL—they are a METAPHOR, which is a direct comparison without using the words "like," or "as" in the comparison—that SYMBOLIZE how I feel about myself in SPIRITUAL way! It is like the saying "they are a wise old owl," which is used to describe someone who is wise by comparing them directly to owls.

And this poem was only published on my "Three Dark Horses" blog.

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.

My poems that are Haiku in their style—within which one stanza is composed of three lines, where each line has words containing five syllables, seven syllables and five syllables, respectively—are a lot more like Senryū poems in that the topic of these poems is typically about people, rather than the topic of these poems being about nature, as is usually the case in classic Haiku poems. "Poetry is using the fewest words possible in order to describe all that is possible to describe." –Paul Whiting [June 1st, 2022]

And that is why I call these types of poems "Haiku-style." –Paul Whiting [September 19th, 2023]
