Post No. 008: The Oneness Of God — A Resident Of Your House

A Resident Of Your House

I try to reach you...

...but you have sentenced
yourself to a prison and
cannot see beyond its bars.

I hope you will awaken...

...but you are dreaming that
you're not in control of your life—
and think that the dream is real.

I long for you to heal...

...but you have quarantined your
pain and prescribed that its
only medication be hatred.

You want so much to find love...

...but I am here, inside of your heart,
hoping you will—at long last—
be true to yourself.

For, I am a resident of your house...

My Spiritual Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this poem when I worked with troubled youth, which helped me to realize that I was really trying to heal myself by trying to heal the troubled youth! So, that is why I decided to go into therapy, since I needed to work through some major issues stemming from my truly dysfunctional childhood.

And this poem was also published on my "Small All White in the Forest" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Small All White in the Forest" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

This poem was written in Salt Lake City, Utah.
